Farewell Jack Jack

13 November 2021

Sadly, we lost our furry mate, Jack Jack, on Thursday evening.

He had not been well for some time, but still the end came quickly. He returned home with us on Sunday from our Yorke Peninsula trip and seemed his normal self. However, over the next couple of days, he got progressively worse and by Wednesday evening he was unable to stand. He hadn’t improved by Thursday, and despite knowing the likely outcome, we had him to the vet that night. Sadly, our little mate did not make the journey home with us.

Jack Jack, named after the baby in The Incredibles, came to us after a trip to McDonalds one Sunday morning for breakfast. We used to regularly get breakfast there back then, something we’d never do now, and we’d peruse the newspaper while the boys played. Megan happened upon some puppies for sale, and one phone call later we were to see one later that night. Once seen, how could we say no, so $600 later, he joined our family.

So now, some 14 and a half years later, he has gone to be with our other furball, Lucy (also pictured below), wherever that may be.

He was much loved and loved us in return. He will be missed.

I also remembered I have this video from our Eyre Peninsula trip back in February.
