Hello Neo

When we lost Jack Jack we decided we wouldn’t get another dog for a while. Megan was really heartbroken about his loss and couldn’t face the thought of that again. I missed the furry little man, but knew that he couldn’t go on the way he was. Either way, we thought a dog-free period might help.
That lasted about a week and a half. Megan, in particular, just couldn’t adjust to not having a fur baby, and so the search began for another.
We were searching for a couple of weeks with little to show. At least, nothing much around Adelaide, but then a friend of a friend told us of a breeder of cavoodles only 20 minutes or so from home who had a recent litter. Megan spoke to me about it and then jumped right on the phone.
Apparently these were straight-coat cavoodles. We had never heard of them, but it’s not surprising they exist in a cross breed. They have a coat more like their cavalier parent. They do shed some but require less grooming. An arrangement was made for us to come and see them in a few days, when they’d be ready for sale and the breeder had a day off work.
Around 2 days later, while heading to Haighs Chocolates to grab a birthday treat for Megan, she got a call from the breeder. She had gotten off work early and wondered if we’d like to come and see the puppies today. One hasty chocolate shop later, we headed to the breeder, via home to pick up the boys.
Needless to say, Megan got her “best birthday present ever” (her words).
We named the new fur baby Neo, as the three boys in the house are all Matrix fans of varying levels and Megan is a huge fan of Keanu Reeves.
