Hello Trinny

For a while now, we have wanted a little friend for Neo to play with, as while we have worked from home, we often leave him to his own devices for many hours. Megan always thought he seemed lonely, but I wasn’t so sure.
Anyway, we searched and searched and searched…
We never thought finding a small dog in or around Adelaide would be so difficult!
We are after a small dog because travelling with two dogs is going to be hard enough without them taking up a lot of space. Hopefully, we could find one even smaller than Neo. We were more than happy to take a rescue, but the very rare small dogs we came across always seemed to come with the condition of no existing pets. Most of the dogs we did find seemed to be Staffies. Megan was adamant we would not get one, whereas for me it was their size that was the issue.
We could find smaller rescue dogs all up and down the east coast, from Queensland to Victoria, but nothing closer to home. We didn’t rule out going all that way to get one, but Megan is working full time at the moment, which limits travel hours each day and flights aren’t cheap.
Eventually, we started adding breeders back into our searches. This still resulted in mainly east coast puppies, but many will put the puppy on a plane if needed. We weren’t really sure about that – poor puppies – but kept it as an option.
We also came across a few Facebook scams. Be careful on the interwebs people.

After many tips from friends, pet stores, people at the dog park, etc, we finally found a breeder on Gumtree in the northern outskirts of Adelaide who had both cavoodles (why Americans and Brits call these beautiful dogs “cavapoos” is beyond me) and schnoodles (schnauzer cross poodle) available, so off we went for a visit. All of the puppies were crossed with miniature poodles, so size should not be an issue.
After watching the puppies all play for a while, we notices one little schnoodle was a bit more placid, and chose her to come home with us. Little did we know.
We named this little 8 week old fluffball Trinity, though Megan prefers to call her Trinny or Trin.
Of course, both pups get their names from The Matrix characters.
