A late start to the day out of Coffs Harbour meant a short travel day.
The only stop of consequence was a slight diversion off the highway to Nambucca Heads where we paid a visit to my (Darren) aunt Ada, my mums sister.
In my younger years most of the wider family of both my parents lived in Sydney and we all got together on a regular basis. However, as they began to retire, some moved out of Sydney and we saw them much less often. Ada was one such person. Her boys had also moved out of Sydney due to work, so she had settled into a retirement village.
From Ada’s we headed south again while Megan searched for an overnight stop. As it turned out, The Big Axe at Kew had overnight parking, so we also checked off a Big Thing while we were at it.
